About BitSoft

An independent software studio in Bridgend, Wales.

BitSoft exists because of a simple observation: the biggest drains on a working day aren't the big problems — they're the tiny frictions you hit fifty times without noticing. We build small, honest Windows software that removes them, one at a time.

The name

Bit-Soft: business improvement technology.

The name is the mission statement. Every product has to make a working day measurably better — otherwise it doesn't get built.

Business

Real work, done by real people — developers filing bug reports, analysts pasting screenshots into Jira, anyone moving a photo from a phone to a PC. That's where the time goes, so that's where we look.

Improvement

Measurable, not vague. Clip turns an 8–15 second File Explorer hunt into a sub-3-second drag. If we can't state the before and after, we don't claim the benefit.

Technology

Small, local-first desktop apps. No cloud dependency, no accounts, no telemetry, no subscription meters. Technology that belongs to the person who bought it.

How we work

Principles we don't bend.

One friction per app

Each Tray app solves exactly one problem, completely. No feature creep, no "platform ambitions", no settings page longer than the app itself.

Local by default

Your files stay on your machine. Clip has no network activity at all; Beam's transfers never leave your own Wi-Fi. We can't lose data we never receive.

One-time pricing, stated plainly

Buy once, own it, updates free for the major version. We say "one-time" every time we mention a price, because subscription fatigue is a friction too.

Honest copy

No "revolutionary", no "game-changing", no invented urgency. If a claim isn't measured, we don't make it. If a feature doesn't exist yet, we say "in development" and mean it.

The story so far

Young company. Shipping already.

Clip v1.0 ships

The first Tray app goes live: a floating screenshot tray for Windows 10/11 that turns every snip and download into a draggable file.

Clip v1.0.2 — polish release

Configurable auto-hide, a close button, and a stack of fit-and-finish fixes driven by early feedback.

BIT-SOFT TECHNOLOGY LTD incorporated

The studio becomes a limited company, registered in Bridgend, Wales — the legal home for the Tray suite and everything that follows.

Beam in development

Phone-to-desktop file transfer over local Wi-Fi. The second Tray app is being built and tested — the waitlist hears first.
